155 episodes since we first hit record in 2022, 819+ listener ratings, and every flavour of foiling.

How it started

It started in the van. Countless drives to the beach, talking about the industry and new gear on the way there, and the session, the conditions and who’d progressed on the way back.

Back then we both worked in watersports and spent all week talking foiling with customers, yet the chat never ran dry on those drives. So in the summer of 2022 we hit record and invited everyone else into the conversation. Freddie’s still in the industry; Liam’s gone back to engineering, but the foil brain hasn’t gone anywhere.

Kite, wing, wake, surf, SUP, pump, prone, downwind: if it’s got a foil under it, we’re doing it, learning it, or arguing about it. We’ve even been known to mention e-foiling…

Liam Proctor

The Engineer

Watersports instructor, turned engineer, turned watersports instructor, turned engineer. He’s had more jobs than most! Liam brings the technical, analytical side to the podcast and drags Freddie back on track when he loses focus. A serious board-building habit and an engineer’s brain give him the know-how to put the squeeze on the big dogs we end up chatting to.

Frederick von Oldfield

The Sales Rep

A completely average riding skillset meant Freddie had to settle for a job in the industry to stay involved. His main role is making sure Liam doesn’t go too deep and techy too often, as his little brain can’t handle it. He’s into the pro riders and the business side of things, and likes giving listeners a peek at how their favourite brands really operate internally.
